Can one of our French-speaking visitors help me out with the lyrics to the beginning of Nearly Witches? I’m working on the album lyrics but I have no way of knowing if what I have in French is in decent grammar. If anyone could please send me the phrases spelled correctly I’d really appreciate it. I’ll credit you in the song’s lyrics page too. Thanks!

Patience is a virtue (no pun intended) and PANIC! AT THE DISCO have recently discovered that. A certain part of their career wasn’t as bright as they thought it would be and with the spotlight on them, and burning ever so brightly, the group confirm they’re not calling it a day. Staying at the Metropolitan Hotel in Toronto, Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith took a bit of time out of their day to talk about growing up and how patience will affect their lives, their career and their future.
How vital is it to be open to new ideas and the thought of change?
BRENDON URIE: Very vital, especially for the writing and recording process because it’s kind of necessary. A lot of the time when we were a four-piece, coming to a compromise would happen a lot; you would say your ideas but you would have to work with other opinions. We were always trying to keep an open mind and it was good practice. If you have an idea that you know is set, you should still be open to hear what others have to say because they could help improve your idea or take it to a totally different place. Panic! was on Fuse’s Top 20 Countdown today but since there was no previous announcement most fans missed it. Fuse’s schedule lists the countdown repeating several times this week, including tomorrow at 1AM and 1PM, however there’s no way of knowing if it’s today’s episode or an older one repeating. Check your local listings if you’re interested, we’ll have videos if it does repeat.
With the Midwest regional final already in play, it’s time to move on to the West. The two bands who are competing in the Elite Eight have both come through some devastating match-ups featuring a lot of late-game heroics and back-breaking runs. It should be a thrilling finish no matter who comes out on top.
Voting for all Elite Eight match-ups will close on Thursday, March 31 at midnight. As always, you can follow all the voting here.
(3) Green Day vs. (5) Panic! at the Disco
Green Day may have started the Musical March Madness tournament quietly, but they have been putting together a string of dominating performances as of late. They came back to defeat U2 in the second round and then fell behind early to Blink-182 before opening up a commanding lead at the finish. Their opponents are Panic! at the Disco, who went wire-to-wire with top-seeded 30 Seconds to Mars in the Sweet 16 and put together an incredible comeback to defeat them. With that kind of momentum, can they be stopped? Or will Green Day take their place in the Final Four? Vote and find out!

Two heads are better than four for Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie.
Nearly two years after his emo-rock outfit downsized from a quartet to a duo — a shift that would have derailed many bands — the frontman insists it was the best move they could have made.
“Definitely,” says the 23-year-old singer and multi-instrumentalist. “I’m glad we did it. We wanted to do different things. If we had stayed together and tried to force a record out now, we probably wouldn’t be happy with it. And we probably would have broken up anyway.
“Instead, it’s kind of a new start for us. There are fewer options to work through, fewer cooks in the kitchen. Now it’s whatever the two of us decide.” Read the full article »
