Panic At The Disco have confirmed they are teaming up with rapper Snoop Dogg for an unusual collaboration. The Nine In The Afternoon hitmakers recently joined the star on stage in Germany for a version of his hit track Gin And Juice.

And now frontman Brendan Urie has announced that the two acts will be working together on a new record. He says, “We played with Snoop in Germany and performed Gin And Juice with him. He said he’d like to sort out some recording time together.”

Pete Wentz was interviewed for the cover of the gay magazine Out.

[...] The ideas that have worked best over the last five years have given Wentz the industry cachet to be taken seriously. His eclectic record label, Decaydance (an imprint of indie Fueled by Ramen), signed the theatrical young band Panic at the Disco, whose first album was made for $10,000 and sold 2.5 million copies worldwide. Their Beatlesque follow-up debuted at number two. [...]

Asked by reporters what rumors the members of Panic at the Disco have heard about themselves, they cite the frequent speculation they’re all dating each other. “What’s the problem if Ryan [Ross] and Brendon [Urie] were actually dating, you know?” the band’s bassist, Jon Walker, told Out last year in reference to the band’s guitarist and singer, who on one tour acted out a love story on stage. Drummer Spencer Smith jumped in to say, “Because they might be.”

“They’re more gay in a totally other way,” Wentz says cryptically, with a proud parent’s smile.

Panic at the Disco have made quite a name for themselves in not a lot of time. Their first album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, went double platinum. Before they were even 20-years-old, the guys were blowing up the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards. And now, three years later, Panic (no more exclamation point) at the Disco is touring the world with Pretty. Odd., their wildly successful new album.

COED got to sit down with Jon Walker, Panic’s badass bassist, to find out the secrets behind the music, how the band is handling all the success and just what a group of guys does on a giant tour bus. (Hint: It’s more fun that you’re having right now.)

COED: So, you guys are back on the road again. How is the tour going?
Jon:
This tour right now is actually really fun. The Hush Sound is a really great band and Phantom Planet is out on tour with us right now, as well, and they’re also a really great band. We’ve been on this tour for about 2 months now we have about three or four shows left. That’s pretty exciting. Read the full article »

Where and when: The Other stage, 11pm

Dress code: Neat threads all round – with a waistcoat thrown in. You’d take them home to meet your mother.

In a nutshell: Competing with Kings of Leon, the Cribs, Dizzee Rascal and Fatboy Slim, poor Panic are greeted by a thin crowd. They don’t seem to mind though, telling those that have turned up that it’s probably the biggest gig they’ve ever played.

Having been 2005′s emo band of choice, Panic have gone back to the drawing board. And gone MOR! EMO-R if you will. Here, they showcase tracks from their new album Pretty, Odd to the delight of a squealing contingent waving a “WE HEART PATD” banner. Meanwhile, others dance to music that’s playing in their own heads. The Nevadans make a good stab of it though; they’re charm personified, they just lack the gravitas, and the hits, to put in a commanding headlining performance – at one point lead singer Brendan Urie informs the crowd that his pants are falling down. One imagines Jay-Z’s stage banter might not be quite so liberal. Read the full article »

Panic At The Disco played their first ever set at Glastonbury tonight (June 27).

Headlining the Other Stage at the same time as Kings Of Leon’s slot on the Pyramid Stage, the US rockers thanked their fans for turning out. They drew a modest crowd due the competition of bands playing across the site.

“This is our first Glastonbury, thanks for choosing to come over here and see us,” said singer Brendon Urie, before the band opened with recent single ‘Nine In The Afternoon’. Read the full article »
