According to management, Panic At The Disco has not decided on what the third single off Pretty.Odd. will be. The music video treatment for “Northern Downpour” found online is not real. The song could become a single, but the fact is that as of right now the band has yet to choose what’s next for them.
Panic At The Disco has joined other musicians in support of connect2earth, an online community that allows young people to give their opinions on environmental issues. “Nine In The Afternoon” is nominated for Best International Video – Group at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards. This is the first award nomination the video directed by Shane Drake has received. Winners will be announced on June 15th and broacasted live on MuchMusic starting at 9PM ET.
MTV Live: Panic At The Disco will premiere on Saturday, May 31st at Midnight on CTV in Canada.
A few years ago I heard about this band with an exclamation point in their name who were recording with Matt Squire. I downloaded some demos off their PureVolume, begged a promo copy of five tracks from their debut off their publicist and proclaimed them the next big thing to anyone who would listen. Suddenly, they were and my musical extrasensory perception was validated; and then it came time for them to make a follow-up record to an album that had made them one of the biggest (if even only for the moment) bands around. No one envies them the act of doing so, but from the way bassist Jon Walker (who was succeeded former bassist Brent Wilson) describes it, the writing and recording of Pretty. Odd wasn’t the trial by fire you might assume it to be.
What was it like this time to be part of the entire record-making process?
It was great. It was a whole new aspect of being in this band that I had never really experienced before. It was just a new experience for me and it was really refreshing to be on that side of the spectrum. Read the full article »
