They’ve never played a house as big as the 23,000-seat Marcus Amphitheater, but there are no signs of panic yet in Panic! At the Disco.

Panic! At the Disco have been on hiatus so they can huddle in the studio to craft their follow-up to their platinum debut “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out.”

Signed by Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, the Las Vegas-based band found themselves with a major label deal before they had even played their first gig. In classic rock folklore fashion, Wentz signed the band after seeing them play in their garage.

Contrary to rumor, Panic! at the Disco will not be releasing their second album this year. According to a spokesperson for the band, Panic are still writing the LP, which is expected in stores in January or February. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing the gang at all this year — Panic are slated to play Paris on August 21 and London the following day as part of the Decaydance Fest, also featuring Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and others. They’ll also hit Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival and San Diego’s Street Scene in September. — MTV.com

A HMV store in the United Kingdom is currently displaying Panic! At the Disco’s new album under their “upcoming releases” scheduled to go on sale on August 20, 2007. HMV.co.uk has the new album page up, but with no information in it. This is the first time we’ve heard of a specific release date, be aware that it is not confirmed and as always dates are subject to change. Credit to onbail @ LJ for the image.
